This would be a pretty major factor.Īlso if any of you guys prefer one of the other metal packs such as metal foundry or i think one is called metalheads, feel free to voice your opinion, i know dfh is pretty old so for all I know the new metal packs are better. For example I know that in the stock versions, the main screen of ezdrummer only allows you to use a few cymbals at a time where as in superior you can have a ton of cymbals set at once. Largely I guess I'm really looking at ezdrummer vs superior drummer 2.0, but keep in mind my mission is to use dfh as my main samples(i play metal and hardcore), so most of my focus is on how well dfh will work in superior 2.0 vs ezdrummer. However I would love to hear it from you guys, the pros and cons to using the dfh expansion through ezdrummer vs superior. So to put it simply, which combination would you guys go with? I know that superior has many more options as far as mixing, and it also comes with better samples than ezdrummer does, but really its the dfh samples I'm after, so I'm leaning towards the cheaper route. However as most of you know, superior is an extra 170 bucks, meaning I can get ezdrummer and the dfh expansion for less money than superior drummer 2.0 alone.

I'm really wanting to use drum kit from hell, so my choices are either to buy ezdrummer and the dfh expansion, or superior drummer 2.0 and the dfh expansion.

What's odd is that I never felt that was something I ever needed to declare before.Hello all, I am in need of some software advice. I accept that music changes, and much of today's popular music is based on looping, but I've always use my setup to make music that at least *could* be played live by real musicians. If you want to hear it again, write it out again you'll be tempted to make *some* changes, he'd tell us. Because that's a thing apparently.Īs a former music composition major, my professor (Bill Russo) pretty much forbade us from using repeat signs. There are sample packs of singers, so everyone can use the same vocal phrases in their music. Play another sample to get a relevant fill. I get wanting to have a snare drum sample, so that when you press a key you get a snare shot (and I remember when even that was controversial), but now you press a key (pad, whatever) and get two bars of some real drummer playing the kick, snare, hi-hats, toms, etc. One thing that's changed while I was away from MIDI is loops and grooves and sample packs. This site alone has more than enough software to make great productions, after you take care of the physical things like having good monitoring and a controlled environment to work in.īedroom Producers Blog - Freeware For Musicians! Not the best but a great sample set to get started with. Check out the BBC Discovery Orchestra plugin they offer for free. Even big companies like Spitfire Audio are putting out free offerings that are just incredible. there is so much amazing software that people are making available now, it's unbelievable. The thing is, if I were starting out in today's world, all of the software I'd need is available for free.
